The year 2019 was a busy year at Marion Smile Center! We were able to serve 6,400 patients and welcomed more than 420 brand-new ones. Our dental services amazed our clients, which led to them reviewing us more than 130 times with an average 4.9-star rating. We have also raised over $55,000 for charity since 2016, and these efforts continually benefit our local community in Zelienople and Harmony.
Plus, our team has excelled in other facets of dental service as well. Here are our top three highlights for the year 2019:
Dr. Marion Honored as Top Dentist by Pittsburgh Magazine
Dr. Mark Marion has received numerous recognitions over the years by both peers and patients. Pittsburgh Magazine named him as a Top Dentist for the eighth consecutive year in 2019, and he was recognized as one of Pittsburgh’s Best Dentists and Cosmetic Dentists.
Dr. Marion was able to take home an award given by the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review for Top North Hills Dentist. He has also achieved the distinction as one of America’s Best Dentists.
So, what makes Dr. Marion special? First, he’s a local: He is a proud graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. Second, he is a third-generation dentist in his family, so dentistry is in his blood. His father and great-uncle instilled in him the importance of taking care of each individual patient, staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and methods of dentistry, and implementing comprehensive dental and oral healthcare.
Another aspect that makes Dr. Marion stand out is his approach to dentistry. While other dentists mainly focus on cosmetic enhancements to transform smiles, he also emphasizes preventive care and family dentistry.
Raised $16,515 for Harmony Fire District #22 and Smiles for Life Foundation
Now in its fourth year, our “Whitening for Charity” campaign made a lot of people smile once again. Marion Smile Center had 90 wonderful patients participate in getting their teeth whitened during this event, and we donated 100% of the proceeds to two charities. We were able to raise $16,515, wherein half went to the local Harmony Fire District #22 fire department, and the other half was given to the Smiles for Life Foundation which supports children’s charities all around the world.
The proceeds bought Harmony Fire District #22 a much needed thermal imaging camera. This tool allows the firefighters to detect fire above the ceilings and behind the walls, see through smoke, and find trapped people and pets. The fire department wants to modernize its operations to be able to save more lives while protecting firefighters’ lives as well.
The goal of Smiles for Life is to cater to sick, disabled, and underprivileged children concerning healthcare. Specifically, they give free dental care via children’s charities around the world.
Became a Pack-A-Purse Donation Location for Miracle on Main
Pack-A-Purse is an initiative by Miracle on Main every Christmas time. Its objective is to help homeless women in our local communities.
Marion Smile Center participated by becoming a donation location for Pack-A-Purse. Our dental office accepted gifts on their behalf such as perfume, tissues, lipstick/gloss, shower gel, makeup, toothpaste, gum, toiletries, and even notes of encouragement.
