The Smiles for Life Foundation has raised over $50 million for charity. This achievement marks an impressive milestone. A total of 256,000 patients, including those at Marion Smile Center, helped to reach this significant achievement through the Whiten for Charity campaign. This initiative, involving 450 of the nation’s leading dental offices, including our own, has become a beacon of hope for charitable dental endeavors.
Dr. Mark A. Marion and the Marion Smile Center team received recognition at the annual Crown Council Conference in Austin, TX, on January 26th. This was for surpassing the remarkable $100,000 charity fundraising milestone. This achievement showcases the Zelienople Dentist’s dedication to charity. They aim to make a positive impact on both local and global communities.
Dr. Mark Marion has made several generous donations totaling more than $50,000 to support various Zelienople-Harmony organizations. This includes the Fire Department, Food Bank, Historical Society, Library, Park, and Pool.
The Smiles for Life Foundation also received more than $50,000 in donations from Dr. Mark Marion. This international charity’s mission is to provide dental care to those in need around the world.
In 2024, Smiles for Life is taking its commitment to the next level. It will send participating SFL dentists on three separate trips to underdeveloped countries. These dentists are affiliated with the prestigious Crown Council Dental organization. This initiative extends beyond providing free dental services. The deployed dentists will play a pivotal role in training the local dental providers at these clinics. This innovative approach aims to empower local communities with lasting dental care solutions.
Since 2007, the SFL Foundation has organized 60 Humanitarian Expeditions. They go to dental clinics in the Dominican Republic and Guatemala. These expeditions are done three times a year, in March, September, and November. These expeditions provide 7 to 10 days of high-quality dental care to some of the world’s most impoverished regions. This longstanding commitment shows the foundation’s dedication to improving oral health worldwide.
