Dental Hygienist (RDH)
Our office is expanding! We are looking for a full or part time Registered Dental Hygienist in Zelienople, PA. Come work with our fun, energetic team! Pay will be based on experience.
As a Dental Hygienist at Marion Smile Center, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive dental care to our patients. Working closely with our dentists and team, you will perform a range of preventive and therapeutic dental hygiene procedures to promote optimal oral health. Your dedication to patient education and preventive care will contribute to creating positive dental experiences and maintaining long-term patient relationships.

- Dental cleanings: Conduct thorough dental cleanings and polishing, to remove plaque, tartar, and stains from teeth and below the gum line.
- Oral health assessments: Perform comprehensive oral health assessments, including screening for signs of periodontal disease, cavities, and oral cancer. Document findings accurately in patient records.
- Imaging: Take x-rays, intraoral images, and photos using a camera for documentation.
- Patient education: Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, including brushing, flossing, and nutritional counseling. Provide personalized recommendations for at-home care and preventive measures.
- Gum therapy: Administer non-surgical periodontal therapy, including scaling and root planning, to treat gum disease and maintain periodontal health.
- Fluoride treatments and sealants: Apply fluoride treatments and dental sealants to protect teeth from decay and strengthen tooth enamel.
- Dental charting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date dental charts, documenting treatment procedures, patient assessments, detailed notes, and treatment plans.
- Continuing education: Stay current with advancements in dental hygiene techniques, technology, and regulations through ongoing education and professional development.
- Excellent clinical skills, including proficiency in dental prophylaxis, periodontal therapy (gum therapy), and radiography.
- Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Office suite and electronic health records systems. Experience with Carestream and SoftDent is a plus!
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on patient education and rapport-building.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care and safety.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with hygienists and dentists.
- Current state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist
- CPR certification
- Local anesthesia certification (preferred)
- Ability to take digital X-rays and intraoral photos
- Experience in dentistry, hygiene, and dental care
- Knowledge of periodontal disease diagnosis and treatment
